Game Girl Advance: Lara Croft Secret Agent
When I was growing up my love of video games was shaped by the women in my life, they were the ones who introduced me to gaming and devoted time to play with me. Over time, I learned that many girls haven’t had this experience and that gaming was, and often still is, considered a boys’ hobby. This work challenges the masculine image of video games while evoking the nostalgia of sitting on the carpet playing games as a child. I make myself a space where the soft gaming is allowed to be girly and soft, but still able to include sexy and violent elements.
