Paula Hager is an architectural and landscape photographer based out of Calgary Alberta. Her favourite thing to do is spend her days kayaking with her husband and their dog, Obi exploring lakes and rivers in the Rocky Mountains. Photography takes Paula inside and outside of the city to find architectural gems that have escaped the wrecking ball of progress or have survived the extreme climate of the prairie landscape. Along the way, she looks for landscapes that tell the story of these places and the people that inhabit them.

Currents Currents is contained within a box in order that its unpredictable nature remains controlled until the reader releases it and it interacts with the environment: the wind, the light, gravity. The text within the book – because the expectation is that a book will contain words – is an abstract representation of whatever the reader is interested in at the time. The threads twist without any influence from the holder of the book. Readings mean different things to us at different times.
