Hello! I am Sy, also known by my username "Doomatix" on any social media platform I use. I am a Character Design & Illustration major with a minor in Animation, and I specialize in model and character sheets, and have an interest in developing into sprite sheets and video game elements, along with story and visual concept development. I'm a huge fan of all forms of storytelling, and most especially video games! Horror and fantasy are my specialities, and dark fantasy is where I prefer to work.

Gleich Gewicht Model Sheet This is a model sheet I made upon completion of design for a Dungeons & Dragons character of mine.

The Wanderer Model Sheet (cloaked) This (albeit very simple part-of) model sheet is for a mysterious protagonist character in a game concept I was developing across an animation class and a figure illustration class.

Knight Design Sheet A small design refinement process for a character outfit design. After settling on a rough idea, I sketched and refined some variations of it and did some colour palette tests, using colours I thought were appropriate to the existing character.

Fantasy Opulent Attire A small completed design of opulent clothing of the sort you'd find at something like the MET gala or a masquerade. A test of dramatic (but not TOO dramatic!) clothing design.

Overworld Game Sprite sheet A few game sprites for a 2.5D game concept I was developing in my last semester at AUArts, for the protagonist character. These are meant to give an impression rather than be fully animated -- that is yet to come.

Hunting Partners A piece done for a project about illustrating for existing media companies--as such this is based off of FromSoftware Inc.'s Bloodborne. The designs of these characters are based strongly after some of the specific aesthetics in the game! The purpose of this illustration is to promote teamwork among the players of these games.

Roundtable Discussion A piece done for a project about illustrating for existing media companies--as such this is based off of FromSoftware Inc.'s Dark Souls series and Elden Ring. While the designs are not explicitly theirs, they are based on them, as was the goal! The purpose of this illustration is to promote teamwork among the players of these games.

Death's Brother "Sleep is death's brother" is a known phrase, and I wanted to illustrate it. A small illustration about chronic fatigue and persistent exhaustion and how to depict that in a mix of literal depiction and symbolism.

The Priest - Before Part of a three-part series of illustrations regarding a character across multiple points in time. This is the first piece---"Before", for the character earlier on in their life.

The Priest - After Part of a three-part series of illustrations regarding a character across multiple points in time. This is the last piece---"After". For what the character ends their story as, when all is said and done.

Illustration Works

This is a brief collection of some illustrative works done in my time at AUArts. Though I pride myself most on design work, I enjoy illustrative pieces too and hope this gives a bit of insight into how I approach it!
