From Colorado to Calgary, I’ve seen how good design can allow for better connections. I’ve learned the importance of belonging in my own life, and how design applies to that. I believe that good design allows for stronger and easier attachment between people and their passions. I want to help you reach your potential, creating community and belonging along the way.

Be The Buffalo

"Be the Buffalo" was a video I did based off of the New York Times article: "Why You Procrastinate (It Has Nothing to do with Self-Control) by Charloette Lieberman. Growing up in Colorado, I learned the story of the buffalo: "Cows run away from the storm while the buffalo charges towards it- and gets through it quicker. Whenever I'm confronted with a tough challenge, I do not prolong the torment, I become the buffalo." - Wilma Mankiller

BENCHMOB Magazine

I made this project with a friend and peer, Cassandra DeVries. We wanted to make a magazine devoted to fans and players of basketball. You can view Cassandra's website at: https://www.cassandraporfolio.com/

Hoshi Film Festival

For Typography, my friend and peer, Kelly and I were assigned to a film festival here in Calgary.

Both Kelly and I consume East Asian content regularly. We passionately made an Asian Film Festival for Calgary.

We named it Hoshi, which means star in Japanese, to represent the hidden light in the stars that Asians are in Canadian culture.

It was important to combine Asian languages along with English to show how the identity of our brand relies on all languages and cultures combined to make Calgary and this festival. The Kanji frames the word "Hoshi" as the first example.
