Pamela Vickerson
Drawing
Vickerson’s practice explores concepts of attachment & loss, absence & presence, the pro-social emotion nostalgia, and the role of “play” in individual and community healing. Through the playful collection and representation of sentimental objects she engages in a search for (and a somewhat slippery hold on) familial history. Objects embody narrative and become a tether to places, eras, and people that are no longer physically accessible. The hunting and discovery of those objects, as well as the conversations and connections they precipitate, aid in the remediation of loss.
