I am challenging the preconceived notions of identity and race, questioning authenticity, and seeking wholeness in places that aim to isolate and define the intangible. I am questioning self-hood, looking at identity as a blobby festering ball deep within, constantly unfolding and crumpling back onto itself. There are so many questions and contradictions to live through, there is no clean delineation of identity. I am navigating my identity, recognizing the inconsistencies and contractions, sifting through prescribed assumptions to pin-point my internal experiences and complex feelings of otherness and sameness.
